ESSE, meaning; “to be” or “to exist”, is located inside a warehouse dating back to 1895. It has been restored back to its original beauty. Raw exposed walls and vaulted 9m high wood ceilings, provide a perfect place for reflection and thought. What does it mean “to exist” and how can we make that existence meaningful? By asking the hard questions and challenging ourselves to take the “creative” road less travelled, we explore the flavors that are hiding within the products we work with every day. ESSE is a place where ingredients, flavor, relationships, and community drive our ethos. These pillars are what keeps us grounded and has allowed us to create a space where we can share our ideas for what a responsible and delicious way forward might look like.
