Mindset

ESSE, meaning; “to be” or “to exist”, is located inside a warehouse dating back to 1895. It has been restored back to its original beauty. Raw exposed walls and vaulted wood ceilings, provide a perfect place for reflection and thought. What does it mean “to exist” and how can we make that existence meaningful? ESSE is a place where ingredients, flavor, relationships, and community drive our ethos. These pillars are what keep us grounded and allows us to create a space where we can share our ideas for what a delicious way forward might look like.

Bar & Lounge

Don’t have a reservation? We offer walk-in seats in both our bar and lounge areas. Join us at the bar, where you have an up close and personal view of the kitchen in action. Here you can order our menu or choose from a selection of a la carte dishes. In the lounge, pop in for a drink or a glass of wine to enjoy with our lounge menu. Please feel free to stop by or you can always call us on 41101039 to check availability.

We are happy to share that we cater to all dietary requirements.

To ensure we provide the best possible experience, we kindly ask that you let us know of any dietary requirements at least 24 hours in advance of your reservation.

Children aged 10 years and older are very welcome to dine with us at ESSE. Please note that we do not offer a dedicated children’s menu, and all guests, including children, are required to dine with us on the menu.

If you’re running late, please let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate. We will hold your table for 15 minutes, after which we reserve the right to mark the booking as a no-show and apply a cancellation fee.

We offer walk-in seats at both the bar and in our lounge. You’re very welcome to stop by for the full experience, just a drink and a bite or anything in between.

We release reservations two months to the date. For example, reservations for the 1st of December will become available 1st of October.

It is possible to cancel your reservation free of charge up to 24 hours before your reservation time. You can cancel your reservation via the cancellation link in your booking confirmation.

In the event of a no-show or a late cancellation within 24 hours of your reservation, a fee of 500DKK per guest will apply.

You may reduce the number of guests in your booking up to 24 hours in advance without incurring a fee. In the case of late reductions, we reserve the right to charge a fee of 500DKK per cancelled guest.

Esse restaurant is located on the ground floor on Trelleborggade 13A/13B.

Nearby metro station is Nordhavn (M4) and train station is Nordhavn station (S-train).

If you are arriving by car you have P-kælder Kronløbsøen and Q-Park Charlottehaven nearby.
